Math to the Stars
Expert mathematics coaching for competitions and beyond. From AMC 8 to AIME, CEMC Gauss to Euclid — we help students discover the beauty of mathematics and reach their full potential.
About Us
Ad Astra Math was founded by Dr. Daniel Deaconu, a Romanian-born mathematician with a lifelong dedication to mathematical education.
Dr. Deaconu studied at the University of Bucharest and earned his PhD in Set Theoretic Topology from York University in Toronto, under the supervision of Stephen Watson. He has taught Algebra and Mathematical Logic at York University and led the mathematics circle at the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences.
Our core belief is that mathematics should be appreciated and loved as a tool for understanding the world. We emphasize strong fundamentals, creative problem solving, and early exposure to mathematical research.
Mathematics should be appreciated and loved as a tool for understanding the world — and every student deserves the chance to discover that beauty.
— Dr. Daniel Deaconu, Founder
Programs
From foundational problem-solving to elite competition preparation, our curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire.
Beginner · up to Grade 8
Introduction to mathematical competition thinking. Students develop number sense, pattern recognition, and foundational problem-solving strategies through engaging weekly challenges.
Intermediate · Grades 9–10
Comprehensive coverage of AMC 10 topics alongside CEMC contests (Pascal, Cayley, Fryer). Students tackle algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and number theory at a deeper level.
Advanced · Grades 10–12
Elite preparation for AMC 12, CEMC Fermat & Euclid, COMC, and CSMC. Deep dives into advanced algebra, trigonometry, analytic geometry, and competition proof techniques.
Elite · Invitation Only
Intensive coaching for AIME qualifiers and students aiming for national olympiad teams. Focus on proof writing, olympiad geometry, inequalities, and advanced combinatorics.
School Enrichment · Grades 3–12
School-aligned enrichment that builds a rock-solid foundation in mathematics. Covers algebra, geometry, number theory, and counting from Grade 3 through Grade 12 — perfect for students who want to excel in class and beyond.
Topic Courses
Focused courses in the four pillars of competition mathematics, taught with rigour and creativity. Perfect as standalone enrichment or alongside competition prep programs.
Summer Intensive
Three weeks of intensive problem solving with top teachers. 3 hours of instruction per day, August 10–29. Two streams available: Intermediate (AMC10 / CEMC) and Senior (AMC12 / Euclid / COMC).
Summer 2026
